MobiQuitous 2015: call for participation!

MobiQuitous 2015, the 12th International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Systems: Computing, Networking and Services will take place in Coimbra, Portugal on July 22–24, 2015.

The goal of the Twelfth Annual International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Systems: Computing, Networking and Services (MobiQuitous 2015) is to provide a forum for presenting and discussing high-quality research in the field at international level, involving practitioners and researchers from diverse backgrounds. MobiQuitous 2015 will thus foster research collaboration through focused discussions, interaction and exchange of experiences that will designate future research efforts and directions. Areas addressed by the conference include systems, applications, social networks, middleware, networking, data management and services, all with special focus on mobility and ubiquitous computing.

Keynote speaker of the Conference will be Bob Iannucci (Carnegie Mellon University). The Conference will host two workshops: the Workshop on Wireless Communication Security at the Physical Layer (WiComSec-Phy 2015) and the Second International Workshop on Web Intelligence and Smart Sensing (IWWISS’15).

MobiQuitous2015 will be held at the Auditorium of the Rectory, in Polo I of the University of Coimbra, next to the historic heart of the University recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

The proceedings are submitted for inclusion to the leading indexing services: DBLP, Google Scholar, Thomson Scientific ISI Proceedings, EI Elsevier Engineering Index, CrossRef, Scopus, as well as ICST’s own EU Digital Library (EUDL).

BigDASC 2015: submit your paper until June 21st!

BigDASC 2015, the International Conference on Big Data and Analytics for Smart Cities will take place in Toronto, Canada on October 13–14, 2015 and will be co-located with Smart City 360 Summit.

This conference is all about Big Data & Analytics for Smart Cities: Smart cities use digital technology to enhance wellbeing, to reduce costs and resource consumption, and to engage more effectively and actively with their citizens. Key ‘smart’ sectors include transport, energy, health care, education, social programs, water and waste. Big data deals with data so large and/or complex such that traditional data processing applications are inadequate. Big data challenges include analysis, capture, curation, search, sharing, storage, transfer, visualization, and information privacy.

Generating, storing and manipulating data on the magnitude of exabytes (one quintillion bytes!) is increasingly relied on to measure traffic, crime and disease patterns, environmental health, business and municipal data.  Big data is evolving with advanced analytics to help cities analyze patterns that can reduce pollutants, conserve and manage resources, increase operating efficiencies. Big Data and advanced analytics are evolving in tandem with the “Internet of Things” to establish a global network of an estimated 12.5 billion devices and smart sensors predicated by 2020.

  • Design of computing schemes for analytics platforms in smart cities;
  • Systems and techniques for data collection including heterogeneous sensor networks; and cooperative sensing for smart cities;
  • Data integration, data aggregation, data validation, data cleansing techniques;
  • Data anonymization techniques;
  • Data visualization;
  • Social networks and smart cities;
  • Internet of Things (IoT) and smart cities;
  • Use of big data analytics in the following content.

All accepted papers will be published by Springer and made available through SpringerLink Digital Library, one of the world’s largest scientific libraries. Best papers will be invited to publish also in the EAI Endorsed Transactions on Cloud Systems.

Important dates:

Paper submission deadline: June 21st, 2015

Acceptance Notification: July 30th 2015

TRIDENTCOM 2015: call for participation

The 10th International Conference on Testbeds and Research Infrastructures for the Development of Networks & Communities (TRIDENTCOM 2015) will take place in Vancouver, Canada on June 23-25, 2015.

The conference will focus on experimentation through a variety of topics of interest including testbeds for cyber physical systems & applications, research testbeds for ICT infrastructure and research testbed methodologies, techniques and tools.

TRIDENTCOM 2015 will bring a high-level contribution to the field and aims to bring together top technical experts and researchers from academia, industry and government from all over the world to discuss testbeds and research infrastructures for:

  • advanced networking;
  • cloud computing;
  • cyber physical systems;
  • connected vehicles.

Of particular interest are: 1) testing, verification, deployment, integration, management and federation of testbed facilities and 2) experimental research based on testbed implementation of novel schemes.

Furthermore, the conference will be chaired by relevant experts in the field such as: Prof. David G. Michelson – University of British Columbia (General Co-Chair), Prof. Alberto Leon Garcia – University of Toronto (General Co-Chair), Prof. Wei-Bin Zhang – University of California-Berkeley (General Co-Chair), Prof. Justin Cappos – New York University (TPC Co-Chair), Prof. Mohamed El Darieby – University of Regina (TPC Co-Chair) and Michael Hrybyk – President & CEO, BCNET (Network Infrastructure Chair).

TRIDENTCOM 2015 is a must attend event for anyone with an interest in or responsible for the design, operation or application of network testbeds and research infrastructure!
