Fabulous 2016, the 2nd EAI International Conference of Future Access Enablers of Ubiquitous and Intelligent Infrastractures will take place in Belgrade, Serbia on October 24-26, 2016.

The conference aims at gathering prominent researchers from academia and industry, innovators and entrepreneurs in the broad areas of future wireless networks, ambient and assisted living and smart infrastructures in order to interact, exchange ideas, expertise, experience and know-how and discuss the latest results and achievements in the aforementioned topics of interest.

Fabulous 2016 expects original works which describes theoretical work validated by simulation or experimental studies. Developed proof-of-concepts and testbeds are of particular interest.

Topics of interest include the following:

  • 5G access networks;
  • Cloud RANs;
  • Self-organizing networks;
  • Ad-hoc networking;
  • Cognitive radio;
  • Dynamic spectrum access;
  • Spectrum offloading;
  • MmW and cmW bands for future access;
  • Internet of things;
  • Web of things;
  • Wireless sensor networks and practical applications;
  • Machine-to-machine (M2M) communications;
  • Device-to-device (D2D) communications;
  • Smart environments and examples (smart grids, eHealth solutions, assisted multi-modal learning etc.);
  • Energy efficiency and green solutions;
  • Cloud computing;
  • Software defined networking;
  • Big data;
  • Security;
  • Life sciences;
  • Data mining;
  • Dataflow supercomputing.

The conference caters for a limited number of workshops on dedicated session topics. The aim of these workshops is to discuss work in progress and explore opportunities for new research related to a topic of interest within the context of the conference.

Furthermore, Fabulous 2016 will also host three keynote speeches given by: Prof. Dimitrios I. Fotiadis (University of Ioannina, Greece), Prof. Veljko Milutinovic (Serbian Academy of Engineering) Dr. Emil Jovanov (University of Alabama in Huntsville), Prof. Onur Mutlu (Carnegie Mellon University, PA, USA) and Prof. Liljana Gavrilovska (Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies, Ss Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje).

Accepted papers will be published in the FABULOUS Conference Proceedings and by Springer-Verlag in the Lecture Notes of ICST (LNICST). Proceedings will be available both in book form and via the SpringerLink digital library, which is one of the largest digital libraries online and covers a variety of scientific disciplines. Authors of the best papers will be invited to submit an extended version of their work through the EAI Endorsed Transactions on Pervasive Health and Technology.
