AFI 360° Summit 2016 – Join the Innovation!

European Alliance for Innovation (EAI) in cooperation with Create-Net, INAOE, ITESM, Intel, and T-Systems Mexico is organizing International Summit focused on Applications for Future Internet (AFI360°) which will be held from the 25th – 28th May 2016 in Puebla, Mexico.

AFI 360° Summit 2016 is a unique event bringing a 360 degree perspective on Future Internet and its Applications. The Summit will gather experiences and innovative ideas from recent developments in this topic, with the aim to coach involved people on the whole path between research to innovation and all the way through to commercialization of ideas, projects and technologies.

AFI360° is a powerful and inspirational event that brings together academia, industry and government to plan, learn, network, collaborate, strategize and more effectively tap into the immense potential of the Future Internet. The Summit will provide a unique opportunity to strengthen the collaboration for the Future Internet between the European Union and Latin America, Mexico in particular, towards joint projects and the FIWIRE initiative.

AFI360° will be opened with a four-track technical conference covering different areas such as FI and Smart Cities, FI in Healthcare, FI and IoT and others. AFI360° also offers an extensive program that includes the AFI 360° Summer School.

AFI360° will take place at INAOE, The National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics, one of the leading research centres in Mexico. Among invited speakers are Javier Araujo Campos, M2M Business Developer at T-Systems Iberia, Latif Ladid, President of the IPv6 Forum, professor at the University of Luxembourg and others.

AFI 360° Summit: Applications for Future Internet

Technological innovation is becoming the key to the development of our society, involving cities, communities, economics and institutions. Internet is increasingly shaping the real world and huge efforts are required to keep pace with the effects of the technological progress on citizens’ needs, business rules and urban infrastructures.

Internet is undoubtedly changing the way we all live, but a lot of the truly transformative potential that lies in Future Internet remains untapped. To explore those limitless possibilities is the main goal of AFI 360°, the International Summit on Applications for Future Internet, which will be held on May 25-28, 2016 in Puebla, Mexico.

The event will be an opportunity to strengthen the Mexican-European cooperation in the ICT research. It will bring together academia, industry, and governments to plan, learn, network, collaborate, strategize, and more effectively examine the immense potential of the Future Internet.

Furthermore, the program of the Summit will be enriched with a series of co-located conferences, which are now accepting papers submissions. Additionally, a special Issue will be organized in ACM-SPRINGER Mobile Networks and Applications (MONET) Journal.

Some important personalities in the sector of new technologies have already been announced as the participants in the joint events: Nadia Berthouze from UCL London, Javier Araujo Campos from T-System Iberia, Latif Ladid from the University of Luxembourg, and Schahram Dustdar from TU Wien.

Applications for the Future Internet – Puebla (Mexico) May 25-27 2016

The AFI 360° Summit is a special event bringing a 360° perspective on the Future Internet and its Applications.

The Summit will gather researchers, companies and stakeholders involved in the FI field, with the aim to tap more effectively into the immense potential of the Future Internet domain. Participants will have the perfect opportunity to take part in the coaching sessions to learn to plan, network, collaborate, and strategize, all the way from research and innovation to commercialization of ideas and technologies.

The Summit will offer a platform to start collaborations between the European Union and Latin America (Mexico in particular), to face the forthcoming EU – Mexico bilateral talks, and to develop joint projects and the FIWARE initiative.

FINE 2016 accepts papers!

FINE 2016, the 1st EAI International Conference on Future Internet (FI) Infrastructures and Enablers will take place in Puebla, Mexico on 25-27 May, 2016.

FINE 2016 aims at progressing and advancing on topics of high relevance with Future Internet’s impact on technology, governance, and innovation. It focuses on the contribution and role of Future Internet on the current and emerging infrastructures which largely impact shaping of cities, communities, and governance. This conference builds on the fact that Future Internet testbeds and their flourishing Future Internet enablers have radically changed the ways of interacting, living and socializing. It also aims at offering the ground at which scientific and technical discussion will progress among technology stakeholders, academia, governance and the society on all open and emerging issues with respect to Future Internet infrastructures and enablers which radically empower to deliver services and applications able to disrupt, transform and innovate.

FINE 2016 will be co-chaired by Prof. Athena Vakali (AUTH, Greece) and Prof. Miguel González-Mendoza (ITESM, Mexico). The Conference invites research papers presenting new results and highlighting on:

FIOTA 2016 calls for papers!

The 1st EAI International Conference on Future Internet and Internet of Things Applications (FIOTA 2016) will take place in Puebla, Mexico on 25-27 May, 2016 and it will be co-located with AFI360 Summit.

The rapid advancement of ubiquitous computation and mobile networks together are enabling technology advancements in the area of sensing, predicting and controlling of our physical spaces. Such technology advancements are nowadays deployed in a web based information creation and sharing platform to give form to what is now known as the Internet of Things. FIOTA 2016 is targeting academics from fields like AI, operations research, networks, multiagent systems and related.

The conference will be co-chaired by Prof. Enrique Munoz de Cote (INAOE, Mexico) and Prof. Alessandro Farinelli (University of Verona, Italy), and it welcomes papers about these topics of interest:

· Big data applications for IoT;
· Analytics;
· IoT architectures;

SCiFI 2016 calls for papers!

The 1st EAI International Conference on Smart Cities and Future Internet (SCiFI 2016) will take place in Puebla, Mexico on 25-27 May, 2016 and it will be co-located with AFI360 Summit.

The central theme of the conference are Smart Cities from the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) point of view. In this context, a Smart City is a city that takes advantage of this technology in order to improve resource management, and citizen’s quality of life and participation. All this with respect for the environment and sustainable development. Smart Cities are a key subject for the development of the cities and an important challenge of our current time. In contrast with the previous century, nowadays most of the people live in a city. The growth of cities is worrisome, that is why, Smart Cities are a priority issue amongst governments and private companies, an issue that is far from being a fad.

The conference is an excellent space to known and present important contributions on the subject of Smart Cities as well as a great opportunity for networking and it will be co-chaired by Prof. Juan-Manuel Ahuactzin (T-Systems, Mexico) and Prof. Adriana Tapus (ENSTA ParisTech).

SCiFI 2016 welcomes papers about these topics of interest:

  • Energy (Smart city lighting, submetering, smarthome, etc.)
