Call for papers: IISSC 2017!

IISSC 2017 – 2nd EAI International Conference on ICT Infrastructures and Services for Smart Cities will take place in Brindisi, Italy on 20-21 April, 2017.

The core mission of the conference is to address key topics on ICT infrastructure (technologies, models, frameworks) and services in cities, in order to enhance performance and wellbeing, to reduce costs and resource consumption, and to engage more effectively and actively with their citizens.

Potential topics of interest, which can be investigated from different perspectives (social, organizational, technological) include, but are not limited to, the following application domains:

All accepted papers will be published by Springer and made available through SpringerLink Digital Library, one of the world’s largest scientific libraries. Proceedings are submitted for inclusion to the leading indexing services: Elsevier (EI), Thomson Scientific (ISI), Scopus, Crossref, Google Scholar, DBLP. Authors of the Best Papers will be invited to submit an extended version of their work through one of the EAI Endorsed Publications.

AfriComm 2016 calls for papers!

AFRICOMM 2016, the 8th EAI International Conference on e-Infrastructure and e-Services for Developing Countries will take place in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso on December 6-8, 2016.

The aim of this conference is bringing together international researchers, students, public officers, policy makers and practitioners in ICT to discuss issues and trends, recent research, innovation advances and on-the-field experiences related to e-Governance, e-Infrastructure, and e-Business with a focus on developing countries.

AFRICOMM 2016 solicits high-quality papers reporting research results and/or experimental results on the following topics of interest:

  • Cloud computing, network function virtualization (NFV) in the context of developing countries;
  • Design and analysis of protocols and architecture for developing countries;
  • Energy-aware ICT infrastructure;
  • Existing/emerging wireless broadband access technologies, WiMAX, LTE.;
  • ICT security issues in developing countries;
  • Overlay networks (such as p2p, bittorent, etc) in developing countries;
  • Self-managed deployment, operation, maintenance;
  • Affordable and relevant mobile technologies and solutions;
  • ICT infrastructures for critical environmental conditions;
  • ICT infrastructures based on alternative energies;
  • Applications and business models in such environments, etc;

AfriComm 2016 is also happy  to announce the CRIISDC 2016 – Creativity and Innovation in Information Systems in the Developing Countries Workshop will be included in the Conference.

Proceedings are submitted for inclusion to the leading indexing services: DBLP, Google Scholar, Thomson Scientific ISI Proceedings, EI Elsevier Engineering Index, CrossRef, Scopus, as well as ICST’s own EU Digital Library (EUDL). Selected papers will be invited to submit extended version to the EAI Endorsed Transactions on Future Internet.

Academic or industrial workshops connected with the conference aim at collecting concrete use cases and successful Smart City scenarios, leveraging ICT infrastructures as the enabling element for their sustainability. FIWARE Discussion Panel and Exhibition: this track aims at gathering contributions and fostering discussion opportunities about the usage of FIWARE open APIs, the Open & Agile Smart Cities (OASC) initiative and middleware within entrepreneurial ICT accelerators. Participants from the Apulia region, as well as Italy and other European countries are welcomed to present their successful achievements that have been awarded with finance support from the European Commission.

Accepted papers will be published in the IISSC Conference Proceedings and by Springer-Verlag in the Lecture Notes of ICST (LNICST). TRIDENTCOM 2015: call for participation

The 10th International Conference on Testbeds and Research Infrastructures for the Development of Networks & Communities (TRIDENTCOM 2015) will take place in Vancouver, Canada on June 23-25, 2015.

The conference will focus on experimentation through a variety of topics of interest including testbeds for cyber physical systems & applications, research testbeds for ICT infrastructure and research testbed methodologies, techniques and tools.

TRIDENTCOM 2015 will bring a high-level contribution to the field and aims to bring together top technical experts and researchers from academia, industry and government from all over the world to discuss testbeds and research infrastructures for:

  • advanced networking;
  • cloud computing;
  • cyber physical systems;
  • connected vehicles.

Of particular interest are: 1) testing, verification, deployment, integration, management and federation of testbed facilities and 2) experimental research based on testbed implementation of novel schemes.

Furthermore, the conference will be chaired by relevant experts in the field such as: Prof. David G.
