The 11th International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Systems: Computing, Networking and Services chaired by Moustafa Youssef (Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology) is to take place in London on December 2-5, 2014. This year’s edition is going to illuminate its participants on the latest research and practice novelties in mobile and ubiquitous systems not only by presentations of scientific studies, but also posters, demos, and insights from experienced practitioners.
Apart from eight regular sessions on standing issues in the field, this year’s principal extras are three special co-located workshops: the First Workshop on Cloud and Server Support for Wearable Computing ; CFP: Workshop on Internet of Things Ecosystems: Computing, Networking and Services; Indoor/outdoor Location Based Services. Another eye-catching event is competitions: the conference invited researchers to submit datasets, approaches, challenges or problems, which, as scientific papers, can be included in the adjunct proceedings of Mobiquitous 2014, and will then be accessible via the ACM digital library.
Featuring at the conference are certainly its two keynote speakers: Prof. Nigel Davies from Lancaster University and Konstantina Papagiannaki, Telefonica Research and Innovation. While the former speaker will share an academic perspective on the role of infrastructure in memory augmentation, the latter presenter will focus on ubiquitous, zero energy location sensor from the point of view of a practitioner working for a multinational company.
All in all, to be missed at Mobiquitous 2014 means losing a great opportunity to network, discuss, analyze, and exchange experiences about the design and implementation of mobile and ubiquitous systems.
