ICTCC 2016, the 2nd EAI International Conference on Nature of Computation and Communication took place in the capital city of Kien Giang province, Rach Gia, Vietnam on 17-18 March, 2016.
The Hoà Bình Rạch Giá Resort in Rach Gia has hosted the Conference which, for its second edition proposed a lot of sessions, a tutorial, posters and demos and keynote speeches by Prof. Leonard Barolli (Fukuoka Institute of Technology, Japan), Prof. Phan Cong Vinh (Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Vietnam) and Pandian Vasant (Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia).
Participants also had the opportunity to participate in two special tracks: Modelling of Contextual Systems (ICTCC-MCS 2016), a meeting point where researchers and practitioners in areas of modeling of contextual systems had the opportunity to present current research results, to share their research achievements and solutions, and to look for new idea of modeling of contextual systems; and Nature of Computation and Communication in Image Processing and Visualization (NCCIPV 2016), which vision was focused on nature of computation and communication in image processing and visualization.
ICTCC 2016 awarded also two Best Papers: “Toward an agent-based and equation-based coupling framework” by Nghi Quang Huynh, Tri Nguyen Huu, Arnaud Grignard, Hiep Xuan Huynh and Alexis Drogoul and “Towards User-aware Service Composition” by Giacomo Cabri, Mauro Leoncini, Riccardo Martoglia and Franco Zambonelli.
Also the General Chair of the conference, Phan Cong Vinh (Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Vietnam) commented the 2016 edition with satisfaction: “ICTCC 2016 ended successfully and smoothly after two days of intensive and inspiring work. I hope that all the participants have found some valuable insights, and begun building an active network of those deeply interested in the field of computing“.
To sum up, the conference focused on how nature is going to shape computing systems of the future. Its purpose has been to make a formal basis more accessible to researchers, scientists, professionals and students as well as developers and practitioners in ICT by providing them with state-of-the-art research results, applications, opportunities and future trends.
