CLOUDCOMP 2015: An update about Cloud Computing

CLOUDCOMP 2015, the EAI International Conference on Cloud Computing, has arrived to the sixth edition, taking place on October 28-29 in Daejeon, South Korea.

Cloud architectures include a pool of virtualized computing, storage and networking resources able to be launched as platforms to run workloads and satisfy their Service-Level Agreement (SLA). Elasticity through up/down scaling of resources to track workload behavior, extensive monitoring, failure mitigation and energy optimization, are among the main values of cloud architectures. Virtualization and manageability (autonomics) are the cornerstones of the good functionality of cloud systems.

CLOUDCOMP 2015 aims at bringing together researchers, developers and industry professionals to discuss recent advances and experiences in clouds, cloud computing and related ecosystems and business support. Furthermore, the conference will give the opportunity to present and share the recent advances, experiences and results obtained in the wider area of cloud computing.

The event will be chaired by Chan-Hyun Youn, from KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology), Eui Nam Huh, from the Kyung Hee University, and Min Chen, from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) in China. Dr. Chen will also contribute to the conference with a keynote speech titled ‘Emotion Detection Networking: An Innovative Technology with the Integration of Cloud Computing, Big Data and IoT Emotion-aware Sensing’. A second significant speech will be by Prof. José A.B. Fortes, Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).

In conjunction with CLOUDCOMP 2015, the First International Workshop on the Convergence of Cloud computing, Internet of Things and Social Media (CISMA 2015) will take place adding an additional value with an up-to-date focus.

The conference will be located at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), established in 1971 to model a research-focused university and to foster elite human resources in science and technology IN South Korea.
